Performance correlation for single-basin double-slope solar still

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy and Environmental Engineering, 2013
In this study, an attempt has been made to develop a new correlation for the productivity of a single-basin double-slope solar still using experimental results obtained for different brine depths (0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04, 0.05, and 0.06 m) in the basin in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India.

Tuning the Optoelectronic Properties of Wide Bandgap Perovskites: Data‐Driven Insights from Combinatorial Synthesis and High‐Throughput Experimentation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Combinatorial vapor deposition enables independent tuning of Cs/Pb and Br/Cl in wide‐bandgap perovskites. Automated multimodal mapping of 500+ compositions reveals a high‐energy optical transition that correlates with enhanced photoluminescence, defining a practical Cs/Pb window.

Architecture‐Driven Functional Coupling in Vertically Aligned Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Vertically aligned nanocomposites define a growth‐engineered architecture in which vertical interfaces, strain fields, defect pathways, and phase connectivity are created simultaneously. This review shows how these architectural features couple ferroic, optical, ionic, electrochemical, and device responses, establishing design rules and open challenges

Investigation of a modified double slope solar still integrated with nanoparticle-mixed phase change materials: Energy, exergy, exergo-economic, environmental, and sustainability analyses

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2022
Despite being simpler, cheaper, and less energy-intensive than other desalination processes, solar stills have apparent shortcomings in terms of productivity.

Covalent Functionalization of 2D Semiconductors: A Roadmap to Advanced Electronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Review presents recent advances in the covalent functionalization strategies for two‐dimensional semiconductors and their implementation in modern technologies. Layered materials are modified through diverse molecular chemistries (e.g., thiols, diazonium salts, alkyl halides, and electron‐deficient species) to tailor their surface properties ...

Sacrificial‐Layer‐Assisted Heat‐Affected‐Zone Suppression in Laser Patterning of PET for High‐Performance Flexible Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A removable sacrificial polymer layer engineers the thermal boundary condition during nanosecond laser ablation of PET, suppressing heat‐affected‐zone formation without relying on costly ultrafast lasers. This strategy enables deep, high‐aspect‐ratio trenches with no detectable heat‐affected zone, templating silver‐filled mesh electrodes with record ...

Experimental and CFD Study on Single Slope Double Basin Solar Still

open access: yesERJ. Engineering Research Journal, 2021
The shortage of drinkable water in many areas of the world represents a fatal problem. The desalination of saltwater can be a solution to this problem. Solar still is a simple and reliable system to be used in arid and sunny regions, but it has the disadvantage of relatively low productivity.

Halide Composition Controls Phase Morphology and Device Specific Performance in Perovskite Photovoltaics and Light Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that halide composition determines phase morphology, governing distinct operating mechanisms in mixed halide perovskites. Phase segregating 75% Br compositions enhance solar cell performance, whereas intrinsically phase‐separated 95% Br compositions provide stable light emitting diodes.
