Efficiency increase in a wind system with Doubly Fed Induction Generator
IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2016In this paper, an improved efficiency control strategy for a Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) with Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) is presented. The developed control strategy minimizes the electric loss in the DFIG and provides maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control in the wind turbine.

Modeling of Doubly-Fed Induction Generator with strong slot harmonic
IECON 2013 - 39th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2013This paper presents a general model of the Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG). The model includes the influence of slotting on the harmonics of stator- and rotor currents. Most squirrel-cage induction machines can be described well based on a fundamental-wave model of winding distribution.

Control of the Functioning of Doubly-Fed Induction Generators
2016The chapter analyzes nonlinear control for Doubly-fed induction generators, through different approaches: (i) flatness-based control in cascading loops, (ii) flatness-based control through transformation to the canonical form, (iii) differential geometry-based control, (iv) nonlinear H-infinity control, (v) flatness-based adaptive control (vi) field ...

Power and Speed Control of Brushless Doubly-Fed Induction Generators [PDF]
The brushless doubly fed induction generator (BDFIG) with a partially rated converter has characteristics of a squirrel cage induction generator and a conventional synchronous generator. Its control is challenging due to the machine's complicated structure, which requires an effective controller to stabilize it within its normal speed range and under ...

Doubly Fed Induction Generators
2010Adjustable speed induction generators, especially the Doubly-Fed Induction Generators (DFIG) are becoming increasingly popular due to its various advantages over fixed speed generator systems. A DFIG in a wind turbine has ability to generate maximum power with varying rotational speed, ability to control active and reactive by integration of electronic
