A Sensorless Adaptive Grid Side Control Approach for Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG)
2019 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2019In this paper, a system identification based adaptive controller is proposed for a grid-connected doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). Recursive least squares (RLS) estimation based system identification provides the auto-regressive moving average exogenous (ARMAX) model of the system.

A reverse current tracking based LVRT strategy for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)
IECON 2013 - 39th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2013This paper proposed an improved control strategy for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) to enhance its low voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability. Under serious grid faults, the rotor side induced electromotive force (EMF) would exceed the maximum output voltage of the rotor side converter (RSC), leading to over-currents and runaway of DFIG and RSC.

Power Flow Modeling to Doubly-Fed Induction Generators (DFIGs) Under Power Regulation
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2013With the constant kopt model under the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) strategy, wind power fluctuation from the doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs) increases the operational risk. With given wind speed, the constant kopt model with variable slip yields impractical power output.

Most of the diesel generators (DG) set used in remote areas runs at constant speed to produce ac output power with constant voltage and constant frequency. In remote areas the peak demand typically occurs only for a few hours in the evening. Therefore the DG set has to be heavily over-sized in relation to the prevalent load conditions.
