An exciting Approach to Theoretical Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Theoretical spectroscopy, and more generally, electronic‐structure theory, are powerful concepts for describing the complex many‐body interactions in materials. They cover methods from ground‐state properties to lattice excitations and light‐matter interaction, including time‐resolved variants.

Decomposition and graphical correspondence analysis of checkerboard copulas

open access: yesDependence Modeling
We analyze optimal low-rank approximations and correspondence analysis of the dependence structure given by arbitrary bivariate checkerboard copulas. Methodologically, we make use of the truncation of singular value decompositions of doubly stochastic ...

The Estimation for the Eigenvalue of Quaternion Doubly Stochastic Matrices using Gerschgorin Balls [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The purpose of this paper is to locate and estimate the eigen values of quaternion doubly stochastic matrices. We present several estimation theorems about the eigen values of quaternion doubly stochastic matrices.

CXCL10/SLC11A1 Axis Exacerbates Septic Liver Injury by Regulating Neutrophil Extracellular Traps Formation to Drive Macrophage Pro‑Inflammatory Polarization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In sepsis‐induced liver injury, marked neutrophil infiltration correlates with disease severity. Neutrophil SLC11A1 drives intracellular Fe2+ and ROS via the Fenton reaction, promoting NETs formation. Hepatocyte‐derived CXCL10 recruits neutrophils and activates the JAK/STAT1/SLC11A1 axis, enhancing NETs‐mediated inflammation.

Permanental Polytopes of Doubly Stochastic Matrices

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 1980
AbstractA subpolytope Γ of the polytope Ωn of all n×n nonnegative doubly stochastic matrices is said to be a permanental polytope if the permanent function is constant on Γ. Geometrical properties of permanental polytopes are investigated. No matrix of the form 1⊕A where A is in Ω2 is contained in any permanental polytope of Ω3 with positive dimension.

The semigroup of doubly-stochastic matrices [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Glasgow Mathematical Association, 1966
The set Dn of all n × n doubly-stochastic matrices is a semigroup with respect to ordinary matrix multiplication. This note is concerned with the determination of the maximal subgroups of Dn. It is shown that the number of subgroups is finite, that each subgroup is finite and is in fact isomorphic to a direct product of symmetric groups.

Wake‐Up and Fatigue under Electrical Cycling in HfO2‐Based Ferroelectrics: Mechanisms and Strategies toward Reliable Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
HfO2‐based ferroelectrics exhibit wake‐up and fatigue behaviors during electrical cycling, significantly affecting device endurance and reliability. These phenomena are governed by defect dynamics, including oxygen vacancy redistribution and charge trapping.

Alternate Minimization and Doubly Stochastic Matrices

open access: yes, 2018
Sinkhorn's alternative minimization algorithm applied to a positive $n\times n$ matrix converges to a doubly stochastic matrix. If the algorithm, applied to a $2\times 2$ matrix, converges in a finite number of iterations, then it converges in at most two iterations, and the structure of such matrices is determined.

The IRE1‐XBP1s Axis Drives Inflammatory Osteolysis by Regulating a 5‐HT Dependent Endogenous Anti‐Autophagy Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A previously unrecognized IRE1‐XBP1s‐Slc6a4 signaling axis links endoplasmic reticulum stress to serotonin metabolism, autophagy, and inflammatory osteoclastogenesis. By promoting intracellular serotonin uptake and reducing endogenous 3‐methyladenine accumulation, this pathway accelerates inflammatory bone destruction and provides a promising ...

Regular bipartite multigraphs have many (but not too many) symmetries

open access: yesDiscrete Analysis
Regular bipartite multigraphs have many (but not too many) symmetries, Discrete Analysis 2025:22, 25 pp. This paper concerns the automorphism groups of $l$-regular bipartite multigraphs with $k$ vertices on each side, in the regime where $k$ is fixed ...
