The performance of multi-cell massive multiple- input multiple-output (MIMO) downlink (DL) with nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is investigated. A novel pilot assignment for NOMA users is proposed to mitigate intra-cluster pilot contamination and to alleviate the detrimental impact of inter-cluster in the useful operating regime.

WCDMA downlink capacity estimation
VTC2000-Spring. 2000 IEEE 51st Vehicular Technology Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37026), 2002A simple estimation for the WCDMA downlink capacity is presented. A general approximation is derived from the basic CDMA theory, and is then adapted to the scenario in question with the help of results from a number of reference system simulations. Comparison with the simulations shows that the obtained approximation is valid for a variety of system ...

CDMA-SFBC Downlink Performance
International Journal of Wireless Information Networks, 2009In this paper a generic code division multiple access (CDMA)-space frequency block coded (SFBC) system for downlink transmission is proposed. Closed form expressions for the bit error rate (BER) performance of the proposed CDMA-SFBC downlink system are derived and numerically evaluated considering different scenarios.

Distributed Massive MIMO Downlink
ICC 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2019The feasibility of adopting distributed massive multiple-input multiple-output (D-MMIMO) for mitigating the achievable rate loss incurred by spatially-correlated fading at space-constrained user antenna arrays when served by co-located massive MIMO (C-MMIMO) counterpart is investigated.

Fair downlink data distribution
IEEE 60th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2004. VTC2004-Fall. 2004, 2005Downlink data distribution refers to the problem of distributing data from a base station to the mobile terminals within its radiation coverage. Because the condition or quality of the channel connecting a mobile terminal and its base station is not only time varying but also location dependent, fair data distribution on the downlink is a challenging ...

Downlink Transmission Optimization Framework
2012 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2012This paper presents an optimization framework for downlink transmission parameters of mobile cellular systems. A typical network optimization approach is to divide the network into disjoint clusters of base-stations (BS). Optimization is then performed within each cluster for important parameters such as transmit power, precoder, etc.

CDMA downlink performance issues
Ninth IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (Cat. No.98TH8361), 2002Several key performance issues for the downlink of IS-95 based CDMA systems are explored. Performance data collected from a number of operational systems using CDMA diagnostic monitor equipment and post-processing analysis software is used to aid in the development of improved link and system performance prediction models.

Intelligent video downlink solutions
SPIE Proceedings, 2013Digital modulation technologies, maximum ratio combining diversity reception and special purpose modulation schemes, such as deep interleaving, provide a reliable and dynamic downlink solution. Multiple receive antennae are employed in the application, simultaneously combining the energy from all antenna inputs; blending individual carriers on a ...
