Exploration of heterogeneity and recurrence signatures in hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study leveraged public datasets and integrative bioinformatic analysis to dissect malignant cell heterogeneity between relapsed and primary HCC, focusing on intercellular communication, differentiation status, metabolic activity, and transcriptomic profiles.

An index for SSRN downloads

open access: yesJournal of Informetrics, 2015
We propose a new index to quantify SSRN downloads. Unlike the SSRN downloads rank, which is based on the total number of an author's SSRN downloads, our index also reflects the author's productivity by taking into account the download numbers for the papers.

Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

Optimization of intersatellite routing for real-time data download [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The objective of this study is to develop a strategy to maximise the available bandwidth to Earth of a satellite constellation through inter-satellite links.

Multidimensional OMICs reveal ARID1A orchestrated control of DNA damage, splicing, and cell cycle in normal‐like and malignant urothelial cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Catching the download train: Energy-efficient file downloading on smartphones

open access: yes2014 26th International Teletraffic Congress (ITC), 2014
The most energy-consuming applications in battery life-constrained smartphones are the ones that comprise data transmission, especially via the 3G interface. Scheduling download activities on smartphones is especially necessary, if there are multiple asynchronous downloads scattered over a long duration.

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the
