Cypress (Taxodium) Knee Seasonal Growth Is Stimulated by Flood Water Levels and Constrained by the Tree Dormant Season: A 14‐Year Study

Data from monthly monitoring of thirty cypress knees in a southern Florida cypress dome over 14 years demonstrated that knees have a distinct dormant season from November through March, and during their growing season, knees grew only when the cypress dome had surface water.

Downslope Windstorms over a 3-dimensional Mountain

The effect of 3-dimensionality of a mountain profile on downslope windstorms is analytically investigated. The mountain is immersed in a stably stratified uniform environmental flow. The case of an almost-2-dimensional mountain is considered. The mountain profile has a maximum and is nearly uniform in the cross-stream direction.
