Phase coupling between eye and brain pulsations is bidirectional and modulated by the parasympathetic system – An fMREye study

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Physiological pulsations driven by cardiac, respiratory, and vasomotor activity are essential for solute transport within perivascular and perineural cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pathways that support brain and eye clearance systems. Previous studies have shown that parasympathetic blockade significantly reduces ocular pulsation power and

A comprehensive review of cancer‐induced cardiac wasting

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Cancer is frequently accompanied by cachexia, a systemic syndrome characterized by progressive loss of skeletal muscle mass, with or without loss of fat mass. Increasing evidence indicates that cancer can also induce cardiac muscle wasting, which is associated with structural cardiac remodelling, impaired contractile function and the development of ...

Bake hardening behavior of TRIP and DP steels

Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing, Mineral, Metallurgy, Material, 2008
Abstract The bake hardening (BH) behavior of transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP) and dual-phase (DP) steels after different prestrains was studied. The experimental results indicate that TRIP steel exhibits good BH ability while DP steel does not, and prestrain displays a strong effect on the BH values of both steels.

Characterizing DP-steels using micromechanical modeling of cells

Computational Materials Science, 2007
Dual phase (DP) steels having a microstructure consisting of martensite dispersed in a softer matrix called ferrite have received colossal attention due to their appealing combination of high strength, high work hardening rate and good ductility, which are favorable properties especially for forming processes.

Micromechanical modeling of fatigue behavior of DP steels

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2017
Abstract The effect of martensitic phase fraction on the cyclic stress-strain behavior of two DP steels is investigated via a micromechanical model based on a representative volume element (RVE). A dislocation density based model and a Chaboche hardening model are used to identify the isotropic and kinematic hardening behavior of constituent phases ...

Characterization and modelling of failure initiation in DP steel

Computational Materials Science, 2013
This work aims to study the failure initiation in dual-phase (DP) steel. A microstructure based approach using representative volume elements (RVEs) is utilized to evaluate the microstructure deformation and the failure initiation on the mesoscale.
