Sustainability assessment of regional water resources under the DPSIR framework

Journal of Hydrology, 2016
Summary Fresh water is a scarce and critical resource in both natural and socioeconomic systems. Increasing populations combined with an increasing demand for water resources have led to water shortages worldwide. Current water management strategies may not be sustainable, and comprehensive action should be taken to minimize the water budget deficit.

Combining ecosystem service relationships and DPSIR framework to manage multiple ecosystem services

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 2015
Ecosystem service (ES) relationship occurs due to two types of mechanisms: (1) interact directly or (2) interact through the impact of a shared factor. Identifying such mechanisms behind ES relationship within a single land-use/land-cover category and combining it with a system thinking framework is especially necessary for effective decision-making to

Developing transboundary river basin monitoring programmes using the DPSIR indicator framework

Journal of Environmental Monitoring, 2011
Policymakers are often dissatisfied by the lack of what they consider useful information to support water management. Analysis of this 'water information gap' shows that this is caused by a lack of proper communication between information users and information producers.
