NuSTAR and swift observations of the fast rotating magnetized white dwarf AE Aquarii [PDF]
AE Aquarii is a cataclysmic variable with the fastest known rotating magnetized white dwarf (P_(spin) = 33.08 s). Compared to many intermediate polars, AE Aquarii shows a soft X-ray spectrum with a very low luminosity (L X ~ 10^(31) erg s^(–1)).

We present our X-ray and optical observations performed by NICER, NuSTAR, and Tomo-e Gozen during the 2023 outburst in the intermediate polar GK Persei. The X-ray spectrum consisted of three components: blackbody (BB) emission of several tens of eVs from

Constraining the neutrino magnetic dipole moment from white dwarf pulsations [PDF]
Pulsating white dwarf stars can be used as astrophysical laboratories to constrain the properties of weakly interacting particles. Comparing the cooling rates of these stars with the expected values from theoretical models allows us to search for ...

Spectroscopic diagnostics of dust formation and evolution in classical nova ejecta [PDF]
A fraction of classical novae form dust during the early stages of their outbursts. The classical CO nova V5668 Sgr (Nova Sgr. 2015b) underwent a deep photometric minimum about 100 days after outburst that was covered across the spectrum. A similar event

The Chemical Compositions of the Type II Cepheids -- The BL Her and W Vir Variables
Abundance analyses from high-resolution optical spectra are presented for 19 Type II Cepheids in the Galactic field. The sample includes both short-period (BL Her) and long-period (W Vir) stars.

Ultraviolet spectroscopy of old novae and symbiotic stars [PDF]
The IUE spectra are presented for two old novae and for two of the symbiotic variables. Prominent emission line spectra are revealed as a continuum whose appearance is effected by the system inclination.

Recent progress in understanding the eruptions of classical novae [PDF]
Dramatic progress has occurred in the last two decades in understanding the physical processes and events leading up to, and transpiring during the eruption of a classical nova.

On grounds of different observable characteristics five classes of nova-like objects are distinguished: the UX Ursae Majoris stars, the antidwarf novae, the DQ Herculis stars, the AM Herculis stars, and the AM Canum Venaticorum stars.
