Searching for nova shells around cataclysmic variables [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We present the results of a search for nova shells around 101 cataclysmic variables (CVs), using Halpha images taken with the 4.2-m William Herschel Telescope (WHT) and the 2.5-m Isaac Newton Telescope Photometric Halpha Survey of the Northern Galactic ...

Targeting the PGRN‐BMP Lysosomal Axis With NPs@PGRN Reverses Immunometabolic Dysfunction in Chronic Septic Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic septic arthritis involves intracellular bacterial persistence and lipid‐immune crosstalk via the PGRN‐BMP lysosomal axis. A dual‐targeting nanoparticle system (NPs@PGRN) restores lysosomal bactericidal function, reduces bacterial burden, and reprograms macrophage immunity, offering a novel therapeutic strategy. ABSTRACT Chronic septic arthritis,

White Dwarf Merger Remnants: The DAQ Subclass

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Four years after the discovery of a unique DAQ white dwarf with a hydrogen-dominated and carbon-rich atmosphere, we report the discovery of four new DAQ white dwarfs, including two that were not recognized properly in the literature.

Decoding Triphenotypic Neutrophils in Cervical Cancer Evolution and Targeting SPP1+/GBP1+/ELOVL5+ Tumor‐Associated Neutrophils to Sensitize Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The functional schematic diagram of tumor associated neutrophils. Abstract Enhancing cervical cancer (CC) immunotherapy requires deciphering the heterogeneous tumor immune microenvironment (TIME), particularly neutrophil phenotypic dynamics. Here, 1) we collected 543 CC cases to find that patients with elevated neutrophil levels have a higher incidence

Classifying Optical (Out)bursts in Cataclysmic Variables: The Distinct Observational Characteristics of Dwarf Novae, Micronovae, Stellar Flares, and Magnetic Gating

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
Cataclysmic variables can experience short optical brightenings, which are commonly attributed to phenomena such as dwarf novae outbursts, micronovae, donor flares, or magnetic gating bursts.

Organ‐Specific and Conserved Regulatory Logic Orchestrates Gene Expression in the Embryonic Mesothelium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrated multi‐omic profiling maps the gene‐regulatory landscape of the coelomic mesothelium across heart, lung, and pancreas. A cardiac‐restricted regulatory program is uncovered in which TBX20 activates heart mesothelial (epicardial) cis‐regulatory elements, while MAF emerges as a conserved regulator of mesothelial identity.

Coordinated space-and ground-based monitoring of accretion bursts in a protoplanetary disc: The orbital and accretion properties of DQ Tau★

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Multiplicity in pre-main-sequence (PMS) systems shapes circumstellar and circumbinary discs, often resulting in morphological features such as inner cavities, spiral arms, and gas streamers that facilitate mass transfer between the disc and stars ...

Exploring the long-term variability and evolutionary stage of the interacting binary DQ Velorum

open access: yes, 2014
To progress in the comprehension of the double periodic variable (DPV) phenomenon, we analyse a series of optical spectra of the DPV system DQ Velorum during much of its long-term cycle.

Pulsed Accretion in the T Tauri Binary TWA 3A [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
TWA 3A is the most recent addition to a small group of young binary systems that both actively accrete from a circumbinary disk and have spectroscopic orbital solutions.

Icariin Enhances the Enzymatic Activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase to Augment Akkermansia Abundance in Gut Microbiota for Improved PD‐1 Blockade Efficacy in Tumor Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Icariin promoted the growth of Akk by enhancing the activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase (Amuc_0920), which enhanced mucin utilization and provided a favorable nutrient environment for bacterial growth. This icariin‐mediated enrichment of Akk further reshaped the tumor microenvironment and promoted CD8+ T cell infiltration, ultimately synergizing with
