Poorly Studied Eclipsing Binaries in the Field of DO Dra: V0455 Dra and V0454 Dra

open access: yes, 2020
We report an analysis of two poorly studied systems GSC 04396-00605 and GSC 04395-00485, which were recently named as V0455 Dra and V0454 Dra, respectively. For two eclipsing stars, the periods and epochs were significantly corrected using our extensive data.

Flotation in the Australian coal industry – recent developments [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
The Australian coal industry has historically utilised froth flotation circuits to optimise plant operations in the recovery of coal ultrafines. This was generally restricted to processing of metallurgical coal, with less emphasis placed on recovery of ...

GALEX, Optical and IR Light Curves of MQ Dra: UV Excesses at Low Accretion Rates

open access: yes, 2008
Ultraviolet light curves constructed from NUV and FUV detectors on GALEX reveal large amplitude variations during the orbital period of the Low Accretion Rate Polar MQ Dra (SDSSJ1553+55). This unexpected variation from a UV source is similar to that seen

Clinical expression of facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy in carriers of 1-3 D4Z4 reduced alleles: Experience of the FSHD Italian National Registry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
OBJECTIVES: Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy type 1 (FSHD1) has been genetically linked to reduced numbers ( 64 8) of D4Z4 repeats at 4q35. Particularly severe FSHD cases, characterised by an infantile onset and presence of additional extra ...

Innate Immune Reprogramming Mediated by Endogenous Retroelement Dysregulation Drives Multiple Sclerosis Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...

Circularly Polarized Dielectric Resonator Antenna Arrays with Fractal Cross-Slot-Coupled DRA Elements

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2017
In the design of circularly polarized (CP) dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) arrays, the regular-shaped DRAs with simple feeding configurations are mostly used as array elements to make the design procedure more efficient.

Deployment/retraction mechanism for solar maximum mission high gain antenna system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
A mechanism called a deployment/retraction assembly (DRA) which provides not only a stable, but a deployable platform for the high gain antenna system (HGAS) aboard the Solar Maximum Mission (SMM) spacecraft is described.
