Possibilities for drag reduction by boundary layer control [PDF]
The mechanics of laminar boundary layer transition are reviewed. Drag possibilities for boundary layer control are analyzed using assumed conditions of transition Reynolds number, inlet loss, number of slots, blower efficiency, and duct losses.

Anti‐Slip Material‐Based Strategies and Approaches
This review highlights the principle mechanisms of slipping at the microscale, linking contact mechanics with a friction behavior model for surface interfaces. Main strategies to develop anti‐slip properties to the surfaces are discussed alongside standardized testing approaches.

After the death of inflation: will fiscal drag survive? [PDF]
Declining inflation rates might have negative consequences for tax revenues. Phenomena such as the inflationary bracket creep in a progressive income tax system do not work any longer.

Summarization: Drilling through the subsurface is a complex operation and problems are almost guaranteed to occur. Therefore, understanding and anticipating drilling problems, understanding their causes and planning solutions are necessary for successfully reaching the target. The most prevalent drilling problems include pipe sticking, lost circulation,

Development of Heat Engines Powered by Twisted and Coiled Polymer Fiber Actuators
Continuously rotating engines driven by thermally responsive actuating materials can turn waste heat into useful energy. For the first time heat engines operated by twisted and coiled polymer fiber actuators are demonstrated with engine design guided by two simple analytical models.

Drag Reduction Through Air-Trapping Discrete Grooves in Underwater Applications
Vehicles travelling underwater experience drag and the frictional drag costs 60% of the total energy consumption. Using trapped air serving as a lubricant is a promising way to reduce drag.
