Drag of a cylindrical object in a two-dimensional granular environment [PDF]
The drag of a cylindrical object in a two-dimensional granular environment is numerically studied. It is found that the drag law is fitted by the sum of the yield force and the dynamic force, the latter of which is reproduced by a simple collision model.

Review of drag coefficients on gas – liquid tower: the drag coefficient independent and dependent on bubble diameter in bubble column experiment [PDF]
Drag coefficient independent on bubble diameter is required to ease design sieve trays or bubble column, through simulation of computational fluid dynamic.

Most granular flow in nature and industrial processing has the property of polydispersity, whereas we are always restricted to using the monodisperse drag force model in simulations since the drag force model with polydispersity is difficult to establish.

Viscometer using drag force measurements [PDF]
A robust and precise viscometer using the forces exerted by a laminar flow inside a small duct is presented: the force is measured on a long cylindrical sensor dipped into the flow. Two devices of respective volumes 1.4 and 0.031 ml have been realized, demonstrating that the technique is usable with small fluid volumes.

Direct numerical simulation of the drag force in bubble swarms [PDF]
This paper studies the swarm effect on the drag force in bubbly flows. From literature it is well-known that for relatively small bubbles, the drag force increases with the bubble hold-up due to additional hindrance experienced by the bubbles caused by ...

Van der Waals Frictional Drag induced by Liquid Flow in Low- Dimensional Systems [PDF]
We study the van der Waals frictional drag force induced by liquid flow in low-dimensional systems (2D and 1D electron systems, and 2D and 1D channels with liquid). We find that for both 1D and 2D systems, the frictional drag force induced by liquid flow

NUMERICAL SIMULATION ON REAR SPOILER ANGLE OF MINI MPV CAR FOR CONDUCTING STABILITY AND SAFETY
Spoiler attached on the rear part of a car can generate drag force and negative lift force, called downforce. This drag force can increase air resistance to the car, meanwhile, a negative lift force can improve the car’s stability and safety.

Long-span Suspension Bridge Flutter Analysis with Drag Force Effects [PDF]
The paper investigates the influence of the drag force onto the flutter velocity and frequency of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. Finite element analyses were run in ANSYS by combining unsteady lift and moment actions with: (a) unsteady drag, (b) steady drag, (
