BMJ Case Reports, 2022This is a case presentation of a man in his late 80s who presented to emergency department with a sublingual haematoma secondary to warfarin usage for atrial fibrillation. His international normalised ratio was rapidly reversed, and he was taken to theatre for successful surgical drainage of the haematoma.

Cholecystectomy with and without surgical drainage
The American Journal of Surgery, 1975Thirty-seven patients who met specific criteria had cholecystectomy without drainage, and thirty-seven matched control patients had cholecystectomy with drainage. This study suggests that surgical drainage after every uncomplicated cholecystectomy is unnecessary and may be unwise.
