The Nanosprouts Structural Inhomogeneity of Organic Semiconductors and the Optical Memory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A flexible nonvolatile organic optical memory transistor (OMT) array is demonstrated with simplified architecture, exhibiting integrated image recognition and storage functions. The organic semiconductors exhibit intrinsic memory properties arising from structural inhomogeneity.

Strategic Direct Printing for High‐Performance and Uniform Organic Thin‐Film Transistor Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work presents a strategic direct‐printing approach to achieve high‐performance printed organic thin‐film transistor arrays. A 12 × 12 printed transistor array with high electrical performances is successfully demonstrated, achieving a saturation mobility of 0.9 cm2·V−¹·s−¹ and a relative standard deviation of 14.4%.

How to Manufacture Photonic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Metamaterials boast applications such as invisibility and “hyperlenses” with resolution beyond the diffraction limit, but these applications haven’t been exploited in earnest and the market for them hasn’t grown much likely because facile and economical methods for fabricating them without defect has not emerged.

Silicon‐Integrated Next‐Generation Plasmonic Devices for Energy‐Efficient Semiconductor Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Silicon (Si)‐integrated plasmonics offer a pathway to next‐generation, energy‐efficient semiconductor applications. This review highlights advances using complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS)‐compatible materials like transparent conductive oxides and novel architectures, particularly coupled hybrid plasmonic waveguides (CHPWs).

Direct Integration of Polycrystalline Diamond With 3C‐SiC for Enhanced Thermal Management in GaN HEMTs: Impact of Grain Structure and Interface Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) is directly bonded to 3C‐SiC for GaN HEMTs on a 2‐inch wafer using an advanced room‐temperature process. Despite high thermal conductivity at the growth surface, phonon scattering at the fine‐grained nucleation side raises thermal resistance.
