Tonic signaling of the B‐cell antigen‐specific receptor is a common functional hallmark in chronic lymphocytic leukemia cell phosphoproteomes at early disease stages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...

Impact of Land Use and Land Cover Change on Agricultural Production in District Bahawalnagar, Pakistan

open access: yesEnvironmental Sciences Proceedings
Land use and land cover (LULC) change is a major driver of environmental change in District Bahawalnagar, Punjab. LULC change can lead to changes in soil quality, water availability, and climate, all of which can affect crop yields.

Degradation of 2,6-dichloro-1,4-benzoquinone by advanced oxidation with UV, H2O2, and O3: parameter optimization and model building

open access: yesAqua, 2021
Halobenzoquinones are disinfection by-products with cytotoxicity, carcinogenicity, and genotoxicity. In this study, we investigated the removal of the HBQ 2,6-dichloro-1,4-benzoquinone (DCBQ) from water using advanced oxidation processes.

Fluid drainage in erodible porous media [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Drainage, in which a nonwetting fluid displaces a wetting fluid from a porous medium, is well-studied for media with unchanging solid surfaces. However, many media can be eroded by drainage, with eroded material redeposited in pores downstream, altering further flow.

Evaluation of the effect of metal stents on dose perturbation in the carbon beam irradiation field

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Propose Carbon ion therapy is indicated for cases in which stents have been inserted, such as bile ducts, but the effect of metal stents on carbon ion therapy is unclear. In this study, the dose perturbation of carbon ion therapy caused by metallic bile duct stents was evaluated by dosimetry. Materials and methods Five different types of metal

Spatial Drought Monitoring in Thar Desert Using Satellite-Based Drought Indices and Geo-Informatics Techniques

open access: yesProceedings, 2017
Drought is a continuous process in Thar Desert, Pakistan. The extent of this drought needs to be assessed for future land use and adaptation. The effect of previous drought on vegetation cover of the Thar region was studied, through combined use of ...

Artificial Neural Networks and Regression Modeling for Water Resources Management in the Upper Indus Basin

open access: yesEnvironmental Sciences Proceedings, 2023
A flood is a natural disaster. Heavy rainfall and overflow frequently cause enclosed land areas to fill with water, resulting in considerable loss of human life and property, including damage to buildings, bridges, electric supply networks, and ...

Drying of porous media by concurrent drainage and evaporation: A pore network modeling study [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Drainage and evaporation can occur simultaneously during the drying of porous media, but the interactions between these processes and their effects on drying are rarely studied. In this work, we develop a pore network model that considers drainage, evaporation, and rarefied multi-component gas transport in porous media with nanoscale pores.
