Drawing Partially Embedded and Simultaneously Planar Graphs [PDF]
We investigate the problem of constructing planar drawings with few bends for two related problems, the partially embedded graph problem---to extend a straight-line planar drawing of a subgraph to a planar drawing of the whole graph---and the simultaneous planarity problem---to find planar drawings of two graphs that coincide on shared vertices and ...

Optimum-width upward drawings of trees [PDF]
An upward drawing of a tree is a drawing such that no parents are below their children. It is order-preserving if the edges to children appear in prescribed order around each node. Chan showed that any tree has an upward order-preserving drawing with width O(log n).

Abstract Purpose The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the impact of bone relative electron density (rED) assignment on radiotherapy planning for the abdominal region. Methods Twenty patients who received abdominal radiotherapy using MR‐Linac and underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) simulation were analyzed.

Separable Drawings: Extendability and Crossing-Free Hamiltonian Cycles [PDF]
Generalizing pseudospherical drawings, we introduce a new class of simple drawings, which we call separable drawings. In a separable drawing, every edge can be closed to a simple curve that intersects each other edge at most once. Curves of different edges might interact arbitrarily.

Robust Draws in Balanced Knockout Tournaments [PDF]
Balanced knockout tournaments are ubiquitous in sports competitions and are also used in decision-making and elections. The traditional computational question, that asks to compute a draw (optimal draw) that maximizes the winning probability for a distinguished player, has received a lot of attention.

Monte Carlo modeling of radiation dose from radiation therapy with superficial x‐rays
Abstract Introduction Superficial x‐rays (50–100 kVp) are used for treating non‐melanoma skin cancer and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT). At these energies, the photoelectric effect significantly increases absorbed dose to bone compared to soft tissue.

The Crossing Number of Seq-Shellable Drawings of Complete Graphs [PDF]
The Harary-Hill conjecture states that for every $n>0$ the complete graph on $n$ vertices $K_n$, the minimum number of crossings over all its possible drawings equals \begin{align*} H(n) := \frac{1}{4}\Big\lfloor\frac{n}{2}\Big\rfloor\Big\lfloor\frac{n-1}{2}\Big\rfloor\Big\lfloor\frac{n-2}{2}\Big\rfloor\Big\lfloor\frac{n-3}{2}\Big\rfloor\text{.} \end ...

WITH regard to young children drawing upside down, I have for some time past collected observations. It is certainly true, that a great many children do draw in this way; on the other hand, many from the first draw the right way up. I have seen a boy of four, when asked to draw a rook on a haystack, begin at the bottom of the paper with the rook's back,
