Antimicrobial Resistance, Biocide Tolerance, and Bacterial Diversity of a Dressing Made from Coriander and Parsley after Application of Treatments Using High Hydrostatic Pressure Alone or in Combination with Moderate Heat

open access: yesFoods, 2022
The effects of high-hydrostatic pressure (HP) treatments (450 and 600 megapascals, MPa, for 5 min at temperatures of 22 °C and 50 °C) on the microbiota of a coriander and parsley dressing was studied via culture-dependent and culture-independent ...

Dressed Elliptic String Solutions on RxS^2

open access: yes, 2018
We obtain classical string solutions on RxS^2 by applying the dressing method on string solutions with elliptic Pohlmeyer counterparts. This is realized through the use of the simplest possible dressing factor, which possesses just a pair of poles lying ...

Formal and informal social care in people with Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal diseases: a cross‐sectional multicentre survey

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Introduction Rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases(RMDs) are leading causes of physical disability, necessitating support with activities of daily living(ADLs). This study describes social care received by patients with RMDs in two disperate regions of England: Salford(urban) and Norfolk(rural).

Probing the interaction between Rydberg-dressed atoms through interference [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We study the dynamics of an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate in an optical lattice in which the electronic groundstate of each atom is weakly coupled to a highly excited Rydberg state by a far off-resonant laser.

Trajectories of Physical Function in Canadian Children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives We describe trajectories of physical function in children newly diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and identify trajectories with persisting functional impairments and associated baseline characteristics. Methods We included patients enrolled in the Canadian Alliance of Pediatric Rheumatology Investigators (CAPRI) Registry ...

Dressing Tool Condition Monitoring through Impedance-Based Sensors: Part 2—Neural Networks and K-Nearest Neighbor Classifier Approach

open access: yesSensors, 2018
This paper presents an approach for impedance-based sensor monitoring of dressing tool condition in grinding by using the electromechanical impedance (EMI) technique. This method was introduced in Part 1 of this work and the purpose of this paper (Part 2)

Generating Cell Surface Nucleated Hydrogels with an Artificial Membrane‐Binding Transglutaminase

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cell‐based therapies require advanced strategies to enhance cell delivery and bioactivity. Cell membrane engineering offers an avenue to impart new functions to delivered cells to boost their viability and function. Here, an artificial membrane‐binding transglutaminase is generated and biophysically characterized.
