DRIBBLING FROM AN UMBILICAL FISTULA
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1960The continuous dribble of clear acid fluid from an umbilical fistula is not necessarily pathognomonic of a patent urachus. An 8 1/2-month-old child was referred because of an intensely inflamed umbilicus from which clear fluid had dribbled constantly since birth. The history was otherwise noncontributory.

Child: Care, Health and Development, 1979Summary Seven subnormal spastic children aged 15–16 years, who had the additional problem of profuse dribbling, were trained to associate an auditory cue, from a small box pinned to their clothes, with swallowing. A significant reduction in dribble rate was obtained for all children within the first week.
