Differences in Siderophore Production During the Growth of Phytoplankton in Southern Ocean Incubation Experiments Under High‐ and Low‐Iron Conditions

Experiments performed in the Southern Ocean under low‐ and high‐iron conditions showed that the heterotrophic bacteria community produced distinct iron‐binding compounds called siderophores, depending on the environmental conditions, despite similar bacteria communities being present in each experiment.
