Small‐Scale Magnetic Peristaltic Soft Robot With Mobility and Transport Capabilities

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study introduces a miniature, untethered soft magnetic microrobot with peristaltic capabilities for both locomotion and cargo transport. Eight helically magnetized elastomeric strips deform under rotating fields (10–80 mT, 1–5 Hz), enabling movement across rods and lumina at up to 4.1 body lengths min‐¹.

Study on wellbore temperature of riserless mud recovery system by CFD approach and numerical calculation

open access: yesPetroleum, 2020
The riserless mud recovery (RMR) system abandons the riser used in conventional offshore drilling, and the drill string above the seabed is directly exposed to seawater, resulting in convective heat transfer from the drilling fluid in the drill string to

A novel stochastic model for perturbations in the axial-torsional bit-rock interaction of drill string dynamics

open access: yesNonlinear dynamics
The main contribution of this paper is the development of a stochastic model that considers random perturbations in the torque and axial force that are applied at the bit of drill strings.

Component-Based Modeling and Simulation of Nonlinear Drill-String Dynamics

open access: yesVolume 1, 2019
In this paper, we present a dynamic model for a generic drill-string. The model is developed with the intention for component-based simulation with coupling to external subsystems.

Bricks, knots, and bodies: Material encounters and the affective making of masculinity

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper examines how creative research methods do not just capture boys' experiences of masculinity, but actively materialise them. Drawing on two arts‐based activities used in school‐based fieldwork (a mannequin‐based exercise with one participant and a Lego‐building workshop with a small peer group), the paper analyses how materials ...

Experimental methods in chemical engineering: Cyclic voltammetry—CV

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Cyclic voltammetry (CV) is a foundational electroanalytical technique for investigating redox behaviour and evaluating material performance across fields such as molecular electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, sensing, and energy storage. Despite its widespread use, a gap remains between formal electrochemical theory and the practical data ...

Gaborlet‐guided sparse filtering: A novel intelligent method for lithology identification by vibration signals while drilling

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The flowchart illustrates rock specimen testing, vibration signal acquisition, and feature extraction with Gaborlet and sparse filtering for classification. Abstract Traditional lithology identification methods mainly rely on core sampling and well‐logging data.

A complex model of a drilling rig rotor with adjustable electric drive

open access: yesЗаписки Горного института, 2023
A modified mathematical model of an asynchronous electric drive of the rotor – a drill string – a bit – a rock is considered and implemented, which develops and generalizes the results of previously performed studies.

Modeling of Drill String Dynamics Under Seismic Activity of a Well

open access: yesWSEAS Transactions on Applied and Theoretical Mechanics
The study analyzes the nonlinear dynamics of shallow drill strings under seismic activity in a geological environment. The main objective is to determine the impact of seismic wave influence on the oscillatory process by identifying the dynamic response ...

TAMNet: Temporal and adaptive‐frequency network with MixStyle for cross‐region oil and fluid production forecasting

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This paper presents temporal and adaptive‐frequency network with MixStyle (TAMNet), a deep time‐series modeling framework for accurate and robust multi‐well oil productivity forecasting. TAMNet integrates transformer and long short‐term memory architectures to capture both short‐ and long‐term temporal dependencies, enhanced by a temporal gate unit ...
