The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

A New Method for Determining the Spatial Distribution Law of Rock Anti-Drilling Characteristics
When the existing method for determining the distribution laws of rock anti-drilling characteristics is adopted, the rock anti-drilling characteristics at the same depth are not distributed continuously and the spatial distribution laws of rock anti ...

This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Ultra low bending loss equiangular spiral photonic crystal fibers in the terahertz regime [PDF]
An Equiangular Spiral Photonic Crystal Fiber (ES-PCF) design in Topas® for use in the Terahertz regime is presented. The design shows ultra low bending loss and very low confinement loss compared to conventional Hexagonal PCF (H-PCF).

Research on PDC drilling parameter optimization based on dynamic drilling strategy
Drilling parameters optimization is very important for practical engineering drilling, and the rationality of the selected optimization mode directly affects the accuracy of the parameters obtained. The maximum bit performance curve which can reflect the relationship between the depth reached by a single bit and the maximum drilling speed is introduced,

A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...
