A Meroterpenoid NF-κB Inhibitor and Drimane Sesquiterpenoids from Asafetida

Journal of Natural Products, 2006
Investigation of an acetone extract from Asafetida afforded two drimane sesquiterpene dienones (fetidones A and B, 1a,b) and several known sesquiterpene coumarin ethers, one of which (8-acetoxy-5-hydroxyumbelliprenin, 2a) showed potent and specific NF-kappaB-inhibiting properties.

Bioactive drimane sesquiterpenoids and aromatic glycosides from Cinnamosma fragrans

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2017
Phytochemical investigation of the ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of the bark of Madagascan endemic and medicinal plant Cinnamosma fragrans led to the isolation of two drimane sesquiterpene derivatives: cinnafragroside A (1) and cinnafragrin E (2), two aromatic glycosides: 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenol 1-O-β-d-apiofuranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside (3 ...

Drimane Sesquiterpenoids from the Aspergillus oryzae QXPC‐4

Chemistry & Biodiversity, 2015
AbstractThree new drimane sesquiterpenoids, astellolides C–E (1–3, resp.), four new drimane sesquiterpenoid p‐hydroxybenzoates, astellolides F–I (4–7, resp.), together with two known compounds astellolides A and B (8 and 9, resp.), have been isolated from the liquid culture of Aspergillus oryzae (strain No. QXPC‐4). Their structures were established by

Drimane sesquiterpenoids from cultures of basidiomycete Ganoderma subresinosum

Journal of Natural Medicines
Nine previously undescribed drimane sesquiterpenoids, ganoresinosins A-I (1-9), were isolated from cultures of basidiomycete Ganoderma subresinosum. The absolute configuration of ganoresinosin H (8) was determined using the modified Mosher's method. Ganoresinosin A (1) showed antimalarial activity against Plasmodium falciparum K1 (IC50 34 μM), whereas ...

Sesquiterpenoids of the Drimane Class from a Sponge of the Genus Dysidea

Journal of Natural Products, 1997
Ten sesquiterpenoids, including seven new ones, have been isolated from an undescribed sponge of the genus Dysidea. Compounds 1-8 are sesquiterpenoids of the drimane class, while 9 and 10 are 12-norsesquiterpenoids of the same structural class. The structures of novel compounds have been determined by combined spectroscopic methods.

A drimane sesquiterpenoid lactone from Warburgia salutaris

Phytochemistry, 1999
The stem bark of Warburgia salutaris collected in Zoutpansberg mountains yielded a new drimane sesquiterpenoid lactone, salutarisolide, along with four known drimane sesquiterpenoids warburganal, mukaadial, polygodial and isopolygodial. The structure of salutarisolide was fully characterized from its spectral data.

Drimane-type sesquiterpenoids from the liverwort Diplophyllum serrulatum

Phytochemistry, 1994
Abstract The liverwort, Diplophyllum serrulatum afforded three new drimane-type sesquiterpenoids albicanic acid, albicanal and isoalbicanal, in addition to (+)-albicanol, (−)-drimenol, (+)-trans-γ-monocyclofarnesol, ent-spathulenol and anastreptene. Their structures were established by chemical and spectral means.
