Labdanolic Acid as Synthetic Precursor of Active Drimanes
Natural Product Letters, 1995Abstract Labdanolic acid 1, an abundant and easily isolable natural product, was transformed by simple and high yielding reactions into drimadiene 3, in multigram scale. Compound 3 could be a versatile synthon for the preparation of antifeedant drimanes.

A drimane sesquiterpenoid lactone from Warburgia salutaris
Phytochemistry, 1999The stem bark of Warburgia salutaris collected in Zoutpansberg mountains yielded a new drimane sesquiterpenoid lactone, salutarisolide, along with four known drimane sesquiterpenoids warburganal, mukaadial, polygodial and isopolygodial. The structure of salutarisolide was fully characterized from its spectral data.
