Drimane Sesquiterpenes from the Sponge Dysidea fusca

open access: yesJournal of Natural Products, 1996
One known drimane sesquiterpene (1) and five new ones (2−6) have been isolated from the sponge Dysidea fusca. Their structures were elucidated mainly by 2D NMR. The relative stereochemistry at C-11 of 1 has been corrected to H-11β.

Plants Attract Parasitic Wasps to Defend Themselves against Insect Pests by Releasing Hexenol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Plant volatiles play an important role in defending plants against insect attacks by attracting their natural enemies. For example, green leaf volatiles (GLVs) and terpenoids emitted from herbivore-damaged plants were found to be important in the host ...

Pyrosequencing Analysis of the Trichodiene Synthase 5 (TRI 5) Gene from the Members of the Genus Stachybotrys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This research will focus on multiple isolates of Stachybotrys species from culture collection companies which will be studied in an attempt to determine the presence of the Trichodiene synthase 5 (Tri5) gene, an enzyme involved in the early stages of the

Study of drimane sesquiterpenoids from the Persicaria genus and zigiberene from Callitropsis noorkatensis and their effect on the feeding behaviour of Myzus persicae and Bemisia tabaci [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Summary Whitefly is an insect pest that has systematically spread into colder latitudes for the past two decades and it poses a serious threat to crops, mainly due to the viruses for which it acts as a vector.
