Evaluation of therapeutic effects of D‐limonene following orchiopexy in the rat model of cryptorchidism

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
D‐limonene supplementation enhances testicular recovery following orchiopexy in a rat model of bilateral cryptorchidism. Treatment with D‐limonene reduces oxidative stress (↓MDA, ↑SOD, ↑GPx, ↑TAC), downregulates pro‐apoptotic proteins (↓TNF‐α, ↓BAX, ↓Caspase‐3), and upregulates anti‐apoptotic Bcl‐2 expression.

The potency of native postbiotics and paraprobiotics in modulating inflammation by affecting the gut–kidney axis

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Native postbiotics and paraprobiotics derived from Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains were administered to dextran sulfate sodium–treated C57BL/6 mice to evaluate their impact on kidney inflammation via the gut–kidney axis. Histological analysis and quantitative polymerase chain reaction of autophagy‐related genes (atg5, atg7, atg12, atg13 ...

Influence of Fat Oil Binding Capacity on Shelf‐Life and Consumer Acceptance of a Chocolate‐Based Model System

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In chocolate‐coated products, oil migration can lead to chocolate softening and discoloration, filling hardening, and reduced consumer acceptance. This study examined three fats (soy‐, palm‐, and palm‐kernel (PK) based), crystallized under different conditions (cooling rate and high intensity ultrasound (HIU)) with differing oil binding ...

Similarity in Romantic Couples’ Drinking Motivations and Drinking Behaviors

Substance Abuse, 2017
Background Research suggests that enhancement, conformity, social, coping-with-anxiety, and coping-with-depression drinking motives are linked to specific drinking outcomes in a theoretically expected manner. Social learning theory suggests that people who spend more time together emulate each other's behavior ...

Drinking with Friends: Measuring the Two-week Ecology of Drinking Behaviors

American Journal of Health Behavior, 2022
Objectives:Despite the substantial influence these acute alcohol-related problems cause globally, past research has failed historically to capture the dynamic nature of drinking events, including how multiple factors (ie, individual, group, and environmental) interact to affect event-level intoxication.
