Dripping from a faucet is studied, where by cutting diagonally the tip breaks the cylindrical symmetry. We measured long dripping time series recorded with a laser-beam apparatus and continuous change in drop position using a high-speed camera. It is found that the added degree of freedom produces a transversal oscillation of a pending drop, which ...

Summary A unique complication to castration is published in the preceding Case Report in this issue, whereby a 2‐year‐old Thoroughbred racehorse gelding suffered chronic haemoperitoneum weeks after standing castration. The causes and treatment of post castration haemorrhage are reviewed along with haemoperitoneum and the use of ...

Postnasal drip and postnasal drip-related cough
Current Opinion in Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery, 2016This article describes the pathophysiology and management of postnasal drip (PND) with and without cough.PND is a common complaint in primary care and ear-nose-throat offices, and is often, but not always, associated with chronic cough. Because it lacks objective testing and its symptoms can be vague and variable, PND has become a catch-all diagnosis ...

Dripping-Jetting Transitions in a Dripping Faucet
Physical Review Letters, 2004Fascinating dynamics is known to result when the flow rate Q at which water drips from a faucet varies. Starting with simple (period-1) dripping, the system transitions as Q increases to complex dripping, where it exhibits period-n (n=2,4, em leader ) and chaotic responses, and then jets once Q exceeds a threshold.

Abstract A new technique of venography by continuous drip infusion is presented as a modification of the one generally used. Drip infusion venography is simple, flexible, and of minimal hazard with a good result obtainable in twenty to thirty minutes.

The defective ribosomal product (DRiP) hypothesis was proposed nearly 25 years ago to account for the rapid generation of peptides from otherwise metabolically stable viral proteins. It posits that errors in converting genetic information into stable proteins accounts for a sizeable fraction of the immunopeptidome.
