NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Calcium Pectinate Beads Formation: Shape and Size Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The aim of this study was to investigate the inter-relationship between process variables and the size and shape of pectin solution droplets upon detachment from a dripping tip as well as Ca-pectinate beads formed after gelation via image analysis.

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

How Hydrogen Bond Interactions Affect the Flame Retardancy and Anti‐Dripping Performances of PET

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, 2020
To systematically study how the H‐bonding interaction affect the flame retardancy and anti‐dripping behavior of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET), two series of PET‐based copolyesters are prepared by introducing two benzimidazole monomers with similar ...

Study of dilution processes of sulfidic aquifer hosted by the Fiume-Vento karstic complex, Frasassi (Central Italy)

open access: yesAcque Sotterranee, 2022
Sulfuric acid caves are widespread worldwide. In Central Italy, the Fiume-Vento karstic complex represents the most important active hypogenic cave system hosting several interconnected lakes where groundwater moves towards sulfidic springs emerging ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

The effects of property variation on the dripping behaviour of polymers during UL94 test simulated by particle finite element method

open access: yese-Polymers
The dripping behaviour of polymers is often observed experimentally through the UL94 flammability standard test. In this work, polymeric dripping under fire is investigated numerically using particle finite element method.

In situ transformation and cleaning of tin-drop contamination on mirrors for extreme ultraviolet light

open access: yes, 2018
Tin-drop contamination was cleaned from multilayer-coated mirrors by induction of phase transformation. The {\beta} - {\alpha} phase transition of tin was induced to initiate material embrittlement and enable facile removal of thick tin deposits.
