Erysipelothrix Rhusiopathiae Infection in an Emu ( Dromaius Novaehollandiae ) [PDF]

A 6-month-old emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae) was presented because of sudden onset of dyspnea, lethargy, anorexia, and bright green diarrhea. Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae was cultured from a venous blood sample. The emu's clinical signs resolved after treatment with en- rofloxacin, procaine penicillin G, and ampicillin.

69.7% of mainland Australia is currently suitable for Australian bustards, primarily in arid and semi‐arid regions. Central Australian bioregions exhibit extensive and interconnected suitable habitats, suggesting stable conditions across much of the continent's interior and northern areas.
