Modulating Interfacial Potential Gradients in Metal−Carbon Catalysts via Phase‐Engineering for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
It is elucidated that phase engineering of cobalt modulates the interfacial potential gradients of cobalt–carbon electrocatalysts, enhancing the intrinsic electrocatalytic performance. Modulating the dominant crystalline phase of cobalt from a hexagonal close‐packed to a face‐centered cubic enriches the electron density of carbon shells, thereby ...

Drone Warfare and Just War Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This book chapter addresses two questions. First, can targeted killing by drones in non-battlefield zones be justified on basis of just war theory? Second, will the proliferation and expansion of combat drones in warfare, including the introduction of ...

Trap‐Assisted Transport and Neuromorphic Plasticity in Lead‐Free 2D Perovskites PEA2SnI4

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An artificial retina built from lead‐free layered perovskite (PEA)2SnI4 converts light input into a persistent photocurrent and sums successive flashes over time. Micro/nanocrystals integrated on electrodes act as synapse‐like pixels that perform temporal integration directly in hardware. This in‐sensor preprocessing merges detection and computation on

Drone Technology in Construction Industry

open access: yesInternational Research Journal on Advanced Engineering Hub (IRJAEH)
Technology plays a pivotal role in shaping construction industry. Adoption of new trends, tools, software and technology would motivate to minimize problems that arise during use of drones in construction. The paper not only elaborates previous reviews on Drone Technology (DT) in Construction Industry (CI), but also explores extensive literature review

The Constitutional and Counterterrorism Implications of Targeted Killing : Hearing Before the S. Judiciary Subcomm. on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Human Rights, 113th Cong., April 23, 2013 (Statement by Professor Rosa Brooks, Geo. U. L. Center) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Mr. Chairman, the mere mention of drones tends to arouse strong emotional reactions on both sides of the political spectrum, and last week\u27s tragic events in Boston have raised the temperature still further.

From Mechanics to Electronics: Influence of ALD Interlayers on the Multiaxial Electro‐Mechanical Behavior of Metal–Oxide Bilayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrathin AlOxHy interlayers between aluminum films and polymer substrates significantly improve electro‐mechanical properties of flexible thin film systems. By precisely controlling interlayer thickness using atomic layer deposition, this study identifies an optimal interlayer thickness of 5–10 nm that enhances ductility and delays cracking.
