Chemotherapy for Spinal Cord Intramedullary Pediatric Low‐Grade Glioma—A Systematic Literature Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric intramedullary low‐grade gliomas (PIMLGGs) are rare neoplasms that present unique clinical and management challenges. Although surgery remains the primary tool for tissue diagnosis and decompression, complete gross‐total resection is frequently unfeasible due to the infiltrative nature of these lesions.

Droplet impact on a thin fluid layer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The initial stages of high-velocity droplet impact on a shallow water layer are described, with special emphasis given to the spray jet mechanics. Four stages of impact are delineated, with appropriate scalings, and the successively more important ...

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

Numerical investigation of corrugated plate interceptor efficiency and its related parameters [PDF]

open access: yesThe Egyptian International Journal of Engineering Sciences and Technology, 2020
Produced water quality has become an increasingly large area of concern for the oil production industry. A great deal of scientific research has been carried out to determine the consequences of exposure of produced water on the environment. Some of this

Inertial stretching separation in binary droplet collisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Binary droplet collisions exhibit a wide range of outcomes, including coalescence and stretching separation, with a transition between these two outcomes arising for high Weber numbers and impact parameters.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

A mathematical model of the evaporation of a thin sessile liquid droplet : comparison between experiment and theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A mathematical model for the quasi-steady diffusion-limited evaporation of a thin axisymmetric sessile droplet of liquid with a pinned contact line is formulated and solved. The model generalises the theoretical model proposed by Deegan et al.

Analytical Study on Gas-Oil Separation of a Heat Pump System under Lunar Gravity

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2020
A heat pump in the aerospace industry can significantly reduce the area of radiator by elevating the rejection temperature. Especially for a Lunar base, the heat pump can improve the heat rejection capability of the thermal control system to adapt the ...
