The lipid droplet (LD), an organelle that exists ubiquitously in various organisms, from bacteria to mammals, has attracted much attention from both medical and cell biology fields. The LD in white adipocytes is often treated as the prototype LD, but is rather a special example, considering that its size, intracellular localization and molecular ...

Helium droplets spanning a wide size range, NHe = 103–1010, were formed in a continuous-nozzle beam expansion at different nozzle temperatures and a constant stagnation pressure of 20 bars. The average sizes of the droplets have been obtained by attenuation of the droplet beam through collisions with argon and helium gases at room temperature.

Droplet sizes in microemulsions
Physics Letters A, 1984Abstract A free energy expression for spherical droplets of a three component microemulsion is presented which contains contributions from the interfacial energy as well as from the interactions between droplets. The model gives an expression for the equilibrium radius of the droplets which leads directly to conditions for the existence of a droplet ...

Locally narrow droplet size distributions are ubiquitous in stratocumulus clouds
ScienceMarine stratocumulus clouds are the “global reflectors,” sharply contrasting with the underlying dark ocean surface and exerting a net cooling on Earth’s climate.

Droplet Size of Cooling Tower Fog
Environmental Letters, 1975Fog from cooling towers causes problems of visibility and icing along roadways adjacent to the towers; moreover, the visible plume from the towers offers difficulty in that it is equated by much of the public with air pollution. It is desirable to know the size of the fog droplets in order to plan abatement procedures and to determine the airborne ...
