Electrochemical Evaluation of Compressed Selective Laser Melted AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg Alloys in Chloride Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...

Spray volume distribution pattern and droplet size spectrum from ceramic nozzles

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Engenharia Agrícola e Ambiental
Droplet size spectrum and uniformity of spray volume distribution are important parameters for selecting spray nozzles. The objective of this study was to evaluate the average spray volume distribution and droplet size spectrum from ceramic nozzles.

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Investigation of Oil Droplet Distribution in a Vane-Type Pipe Separator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The droplet size distribution (DSD) in a swirl flow field formed by guiding vanes in a vane-type pipe separator (VTPS) was experimentally studied. The cumulative volume fraction and maximum droplet diameter of the dispersed phase were determined using a ...

A Compact Spin‐Coated Graphene UWB Antenna for Breast Tumor Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A compact, spin‐coated graphene ultra‐wideband patch antenna designed for breast tumor detection, capable of distinguishing between malignant and benign tumors. This innovative antenna can serve as an effective initial screening tool, particularly in resource‐limited settings such as rural areas, where access to advanced medical equipment like MRI and ...

Unravelling the effect of droplet size on lipid oxidation in O/W emulsions by using microfluidics

open access: yesScientific Reports
Lipid oxidation in emulsions is hypothesised to increase with decreasing droplet size, as this increases the specific oil–water interfacial area, where lipid oxidation is expected to be initiated.

Evolution of droplet size distribution in selected nebulizers

open access: yes, 2020
Nebulizers are the class of atomizing devices used to disperse liquids to fine droplets. They found their application in selected technological (typically: small-scale) processes, but their most common use is related to the generation of medicinal ...

Highly concentrated emulsions: Role of droplet size

open access: yes, 2011
The problem of droplet size dependence on rheological properties of highly concentrated emulsions was studied. Changes in droplet size distribution were achieved by multi-pass flow through a small orifice set as the outlet of a piston-chamber pumping ...

Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.
