Spray atomizer droplet spectrum measurement
The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, 1980AbstractThe gamma function distribution is used to discuss droplet size variation for flat fan and round orifice atomizers. A technique of using multiple‐probe devices to measure droplet size, distribution and flux when the form of the distribution is known is described.

Study on droplets characteristics used for infrared spectrum suppression
2015 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation (ICMA), 2015A model is developed to predict the motion and evaporation characteristics of spray droplets which are used for infrared stealth based on the assumptions of single droplet and spherical symmetry. There are lots of parameters like sprays properties and ambient conditions that affect the stealth process, but only several factors such as wind, irradiation,

A simple droplet spectrum derived from entropy theory
Atmospheric Research, 1994A preliminary droplet spectrum without collision and coalescence was studied by using entropy theory. It was assumed that droplets occupy arbitrarily with the surface free energy and follow statistical regulation which corresponds with maximum entropy. The derived equation describing cloud droplet spectrum was also obtained as: n(r)=[2Nr/R 2 ].exp(−r 2

A model of the development of the droplet spectrum in a growing cumulus turret
Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, 1986AbstractA model is presented which describes the growth of the droplet spectrum in a growing cumulus turret in which the vertical velocities are determined by buoyancy forces. It is found that if the entrainment of dry air occurs continuously and homogeneously across the cloud then no enhanced growth of the largest droplets in the spectrum occurs ...

Dessens' Droplets in the Near and Middle Infrared Spectrum of the Sun
Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences, 1974Abstract Measurements of the monochromatic atmospheric extinction of solar radiation (in the 0.65–13.5 µm wavelength interval) in the Po Valley and neighboring mountainous areas show the occurrence during the morning (after the night inversion) of an evolution both in concentration and size distribution of airborne particulate matter.

VELOCITY SPECTRUM MEASUREMENTS IN DROPLET-LADEN JETS
Transactions of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering, 1997The velocity spectrum characteristics of an axisymmetric, droplet-laden turbulent jet is investigated using laser anemometry. Measurements are carried out at large distances from the nozzle (>100 diameters). The inherent similarity of turbulent droplet-laden jets is investigated. The droplet velocity spectra are obtained at several locations in the

Oscillation spectrums and beat phenomenon of a water droplet driven by electrowetting
Applied Physics Letters, 2009Droplet oscillation is an intriguing study that has inspired researches in many fields, and it becomes increasingly important on biochip applications. In this study, amplitude and phase spectrums and beat phenomenon of water droplet oscillation driven by ac electrowetting are studied using frequency scanning method. It is observed by experiment that at

Fermi sea excitations in the optical spectrum of a doped 3He droplet
Chemical Physics Letters, 2012Abstract The effect of particle–hole excitations of the Fermi sea on the zero-phonon line (ZPL) of the optical spectrum of a chromophore in a 3 He droplet is considered. Due to the finite value of the density of states, the contribution of the low energy particle–hole excitations in the optical spectrum diverges at T → 0.

The rotational spectrum of single OCS molecules in liquid 4He droplets
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2000Single OCS molecules have been embedded in large 4He droplets (N̄=1×103–8×103 atoms) and their infrared spectra in the vicinity of the ν3-fundamental at 2062 cm−1 have been studied using coaxial laser depletion spectroscopy. Sharp lines corresponding to the P- and R-branches with a linewidth of 160 MHz or greater are observed. From the line intensities

Measuring Spray Atomizer Droplet Spectrum Down to 0.5 µm Size
Transactions of the ASAE, 1985ABSTRACT A combined light scattering and photographic method was used to measure spray atomizer droplet spectrum down to a droplet diameter of 0.5 pirn. The PMS FSSP scattering probe used was calibrated and a calibration curve based on refractive index is provided. Measured droplet mass flux is within 10% of the mass flux supplied to the atomizers.
