Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

A Geometrically Transient Platform for Bioelectronic Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Minimally invasive bioelectronic implants often compromise performance for smaller sizes. To resolve this optimization dilemma, a wireless bioelectronic implant with a transient geometry is introduced (MiFi). The origami‐inspired device miniaturizes up to sixfold for syringe insertion and autonomously unfolds post‐implantation.

Soft Skins With Reversible Thickness Morphing: Materials, Mechanisms, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Evolution of electronic skin (e‐skin) technologies toward adaptive, multifunctional soft skins. Phase I highlights early rigid and discrete sensory interfaces. Phase II shows the transition toward flexible, stretchable, and large‐area e‐skin. Phase III captures the emergence of computational e‐skin.

Hydrophobic MFI‐Type Zeolites via Alkali‐Cation‐Induced Defect Healing: Implications for Adsorbent and Catalyst Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Sub‐stoichiometric amounts of Na+ or K+ enhance defect healing during Silicalite‐1 (MFI) and TS‐1 calcination by promoting Si–O–Si annealing and healing framework vacancies. The resulting defect‐free zeolites are more hydrophobic and show improved butanol/water separation and improved activity and selectivity in the epoxidation of 1‐hexene, offering a ...

Approximate fair dropping for variable length packets

IEEE Micro, 2001
The CHOKe router algorithm provides an approximately fair bandwidth allocation at a low implementation cost. The authors consider performance and implementation issues associated with CHOKe, with particular emphasis on variable-length packets.

Implication of dropping packets from the front of a queue

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1993
When congestion occurs in a packet queuing system, packets can be dropped from the rear or the front of the queue. It is demonstrated that the probability of a packet being dropped is the same in systems with rear and front packet dropping. It is shown that the probability of a packet being delayed longer than a given value in a system with front ...

Silent packet dropping with stockade

open access: yes, 2007
Stockade is a network-layer spam-mitigation package designed to prevent spammers from consuming excess bandwidth on a mail server. This report contains various tests performed on Stockade which assess how silently dropping packets affects spam sending patterns. The results concluded that when Stockade was active on the mail server and configured to drop ...

Cycling Packet Dropping Mechanism for Assured Forwarding Packets in Internet

The KIPS Transactions PartC, 2002
Cycling Packet Dropping mechanism we proposed in this paper adaptively drops packets, as predicting traffic pattern between each cycle. Therfore the proposed mechanism makes up for the drawback of RIO mechanism and minimizes errors being capable of predicting in Dynamic and Strict Packet Dropping mechanism. And we executed a simulation and analyzed the

Fair packet dropping

2012 IEEE 13th International Conference on High Performance Switching and Routing, 2012
Many scheduling algorithms were proposed to provide fair service of flows passing through a buffer before the congested link. As we will show, fairness can be provided only if packets are dropped appropriately, while the fair scheduling algorithms is applied.
