Pss knockdown in the midgut causes growth retardation in Drosophila similar to that in human LMHD

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Phosphatidylserine synthase (PSS), localized in the mitochondrial membrane, synthesizes phosphatidylserine. In humans, mutations in Pss lead to Lenz–Majewski hyperostotic dwarfism, a disorder affecting growth and development. The effects of Pss mutations on the growth of Drosophila melanogaster are not fully known. Hence, this study

Self‐inferring incomplete multi‐view clustering

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, EarlyView., 2022
A novel algorithm is proposed, named self‐inferring multi‐view clustering, to learn a common representation for all views while inferring the missing instances simultaneously. The missing instances of incomplete multi‐view data are replenished with zeros and exploited as variables and a feature graph is constructed for each view.

Mitochondria‐Nuclear Crosstalk: Orchestrating mtDNA Maintenance

open access: yesEnvironmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The mitochondria (mt) and nucleus engage in a dynamic bidirectional communication to maintain cellular homeostasis, regulating energy production, stress response, and cell fate. Anterograde signaling directs mt function, while retrograde signaling conveys metabolic and stress‐related changes from mt to the nucleus. Central to this crosstalk is

Developmental regulation of the heat shock response by nuclear transport factor karyopherin-α3 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
During early stages of Drosophila development the heat-shock response cannot be induced. It is reasoned that the adverse effects on cell cycle and cell growth brought about by Hsp70 induction must outweigh the beneficial aspects of Hsp70 induction in the

Precision therapies for genetic epilepsies in 2025: Promises and pitfalls

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract By targeting the underlying etiology, precision therapies offer an exciting paradigm shift to improve the stagnant outcomes of drug‐resistant epilepsies, including developmental and epileptic encephalopathies. Unlike conventional antiseizure medications (ASMs) which only treat the symptoms (seizures) but have no effect on the underlying ...

An Optimized Power Load Forecasting Algorithm Based on VMD‐SMA‐LSTM

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This paper proposes a load forecasting method that successfully combines the VMD‐SMA‐LSTM algorithms for load forecasting, and compares it with existing methods, demonstrating the superiority of the algorithm. ABSTRACT Accurate load forecasting can scientifically guide the optimal operation and scheduling of urban power grids.
