Hydrological Drought Investigation Using Streamflow Drought Index
2020This chapter aims to investigate hydrological drought events using streamflow drought index. The quantification of drought and wet events is an important process for water resources engineering and planning. There are different indices available for regional quantification of hydrological drought and wet conditions, depending on the type of data ...

INDEXING OF METEOROLOGICAL DROUGHT
Bulletin of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Geography, 2019Drought is a serious extreme climatic event that negatively affects the physical environment and water systems causing disruptions in the hydrological cycle of the region. This is a stochastic natural hazard caused by persistent rainfall scarcity. The life cycle of the drought begins with a meteorological phenomenon, and further influence is realized ...

Sustainable Water Resources Management, 2019
Drought is one of the main natural causes of damages to the ecosystems, agricultural productions, water resources, etc. Many indices have been developed to assess drought severity. Reconnaissance Drought Index (RDI) and Effective Reconnaissance Drought Index (eRDI) are two of the newest indices in drought evaluation. These indices are based on ratio of

Comparison of Meteorological Drought and Hydrological Drought Index
Journal of the Korean Water Resources Association, 2015본 연구는 기상학적 가뭄지수가 수문학적 가뭄에 대한 모사정도를 검토하였다. 기상학적 가뭄지수 중에서 강수량을 변수로 하는 SPI(Standardized Precipitation Index)와 강수량 및 증발산량을 변수로 하는 SPEI(Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index)를 이용하였고, 수문학적 가뭄 평가를 위하여 월 총 유입량과 하천수 가뭄지수인 SDI(Streamflow Drought Index)를 계산하여, 최종적으로 기상학적 가뭄지수와 수문학적 가뭄지수와의 상관정도를 분석하였다.

Drought monitoring using MODIS derived perpendicular drought indexes
2019 8th International Conference on Agro-Geoinformatics (Agro-Geoinformatics), 2019Drought is one of the most complex natural hazards that can produce devastating impacts on many aspects, especially on agricultural production. Insufficient site observation data for drought monitoring makes remote sensing technique a key issue for global and regional drought assessment with high spatial and temporal resolutions.

Drought in Nicosia using Standardized Precipitation Index SPI-n and BMDI drought index
SPIE Proceedings, 2015The number of rainy days per year in calculated to follow a negative trend in Nicosia and for that an analysis of drought using the Standardized Precipitation Index SPI-n and the BMDI drought index has been made. The calculations have been made using daily rainfall total amounts for the station of Nicosia for a long enough period in order to extract ...
