Drought Monitoring of Spring Maize in the Songnen Plain Using Multi-Source Remote Sensing Data

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2023
Agricultural production is highly susceptible to the impact of drought. How to improve agricultural drought-monitoring capability has always been a research hotspot. Based on multi-source remote-sensing data, a novel comprehensive drought index (CDI) for

Conformable Ferrimagnetic Tattoo Electrodes for Plant Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The newly developed ferrimagnetic tattoo electrode is capable of measuring plant electrophysiological activity outside the Faraday cage. Its ability to adhere without damaging the plant tissue allows long‐term recordings. This premise opens new avenues for in‐field monitoring of plant health through electrophysiology.

Closed‐Loop Radiative Cooling Mulch Upcycled From Agricultural Residues for Efficient Soil Heat–Water Stress Mitigation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conventional passive radiative cooling films rely on costly feedstocks and energy‐intensive fabrication, with poor end‐of‐life compatibility in agriculture. To address this challenge, a sustainable radiative cooling mulch (SRCM) is developed from waste maize leaves via spontaneous hydrogen‐bond self‐assembly.

Causal‐Guided Ultra‐Long‐Term Time Series Forecasting Via Anticipated Covariates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Often treated as unknown, information from the future remains underutilized. We demonstrate that in a coupled dynamical system, providing the future state of the effect enables accurate forecasting of the cause for a long timesteps. A time series forecasting paradigm that introduces anticipated covariates to represent such known future states is ...

Twenty-Year Variability in Water Use Efficiency over the Farming–Pastoral Ecotone of Northern China: Driving Force and Resilience to Drought

open access: yesAgriculture
Water use efficiency (WUE), as an important metric for ecosystem resilience, has been identified to play a significant role in the coupling of carbon and water cycles. The farming–pastoral ecotone of Northern China (FPENC), which is highly susceptible to

Remote-Sensing Drought Monitoring in Sichuan Province from 2001 to 2020 Based on MODIS Data

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2022
In this study, four drought monitoring indices were selected to simulate drought monitoring in the study area and a correlation analysis was conducted using the self-calibrated Palmer Drought Index (sc-PDSI) to screen for the most suitable drought ...

Natural Variation of COLD and CATECHINS REGULATOR 1 Coordinately Fine‐Tunes Cold Tolerance and Tea Quality in Tea Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐trait genome‐wide association mapping identifies a central hub regulator, COLD AND CATECHINS REGULATOR 1 (CCR1), and its excellent natural allele variation, coordinately enhancing cold tolerance and promoting catechins biosyntheis. CsCCR1 interacts with CsCBF1/3 and is transcriptionally activated by CsLUX and CsKUA1 to promote catechins ...

Development of Drought Monitoring System: I. Applicability of Drought Indices for Quantitative Drought Monitoring

open access: yesJournal of Korea Water Resources Association, 2006
