Efficient driver drowsiness detection at moderate levels of drowsiness
Accident Analysis & Prevention, 2013Previous research on driver drowsiness detection has focused primarily on lane deviation metrics and high levels of fatigue. The present research sought to develop a method for detecting driver drowsiness at more moderate levels of fatigue, well before accident risk is imminent. Eighty-seven different driver drowsiness detection metrics proposed in the

All over the world Drowsiness has been the significant cause of horrible accidents which is causing deaths and fatalities injuries. Day by Day fatal injuries numbers are increasing globally. From the past many years, researchers have concluded drivers with a lack of sleep and more tiredness which causes drowsiness of the driver.

Persistent or periodic day-time drowsiness is an important cause of poor work, under-achievement, and social disaster. Somnolence may be associated with anxiety, ill-health, and poor or inadequate night-sleep, but also results from a group of sleep disorders including idiopathic hypersomnolence and sleep apnoea. Idiopathic hypersomnolence seems to be a

Driver’s drowsiness is considered as a major reason behind accidents on road, around the globe. Driving nonstop for a long period of time will cause accidents. The consequences of drowsy state are the same as alcohol, and it will create a driver’s driving inputs poorer, destroy the driver’s reaction times, and blur driver’s thought processes.

Drowsy driving increases risk of traffic accidents. A major problem remains in the identification of drowsy drivers at risk for traffic accidents. Drowsy driving is the consequence of various behavioural factors (e.g. sleep duration, work duration, shift-work schedules) combined or not with sleep and iatrogenic disorders (e.g.

On-chip caches represent a sizable fraction of the total power consumption of microprocessors. Although large caches can significantly improve performance, they have the potential to increase power consumption. As feature sizes shrink, the dominant component of this power loss will be leakage.

Drowsiness is common in those with DLB and PDD, and can interfere with thinking and memory, as well as quality of life. There are a variety of potential reasons for this, many treatable. Getting a little sleepy during a boring task or napping after lunch on the weekend is not a sign of a medical problem.

Morphological drowsy detection
2011 IEEE International Conference on Signal and Image Processing Applications (ICSIPA), 2011Drowsiness detection is vital in preventing accidents. Eye state analysis — Detecting whether the eye is open or closed — is critical step for drowsiness detection. In this article we proposed an innovative algorithm for detecting eyes in drowsiness detection which is based on morphology.
