Transition‐Metal Azo Schiff Base Complexes: Nonlinear Optics Across Solutions, Thin Films and Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 30, October 24, 2025.
The excitation of a transition‐metal azo Schiff‐base complex with a 1064 nm laser induces a series of nonlinear optical effects. These effects include the second harmonic generation at 532 nm and third harmonic generation at 355 nm. This process demonstrates the potential of the complex for high‐order nonlinear optical applications. Abstract This paper

Performance Improvement of Anode‐Free Lithium‐Metal Batteries by In Situ Design of the Initial Solid Electrolyte Interphase Using Localized High‐Concentration Sulfolane Electrolyte

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 12, Issue 18, September 15, 2025.
The effect of electrochemical in situ surface pretreatment of copper current collector, for anode‐free lithium‐metal batteries with sulfolane‐based localized high‐concentration electrolyte is explored. The constant potential and constant current pretreatment procedures benefit the anode performance.

Comparison of Different Temperatures on Bending Properties of Six Niti Endodontic File Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Introduction: Manufacturers claim that modern NiTi files with proprietary heat treatment transform at higher temperatures, thus staying more martensite and being more resistant to cyclic fatigue and more flexible.

Computational and Experimental Analysis of Drug‐Coated Microneedle Skin Insertion: The Mode of Administration Matters

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 17, September 8, 2025.
This study investigates how the mode of application affects drug delivery from coated microneedles. Combining finite element modeling with custom 3D‐printed Franz Diffusion Cells, the researchers found that prolonged application pressure from microneedles in situ reduces drug permeation.

Correlative Characterizations Reveal the Structure‐Bonding‐Property Relationship at a Local Scale

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 5, Issue 9, September 2025.
Grain boundaries (GBs) modify the local microstructures, chemical bonding, and carrier transport of polycrystalline materials, influencing their overall mechanical and functional properties. We developed a correlative characterization method by combining several advanced ex‐situ and in‐situ techniques to reveal the relationship between structure ...

Solid state welding processes for an oxide dispersion strengthened nickel-chromium-aluminum alloy [PDF]

open access: yes
Solid-state welding processes were evaluated for joining TD-NiCrAl (Ni-16Cr-4Al-2ThO2) alloy sheet. Both hot-press and resistance spot welding techniques were successfully applied in terms of achieving grain growth across the bond line.

Exploring High‐Charge‐Density Polyelectrolytes as Membrane Component for Solid Contact Ion‐Selective Electrodes

open access: yesElectroanalysis, Volume 37, Issue 9, September 2025.
Real‐time potential recording of two potassium‐selective electrodes, each with a different ion‐selective membrane (ISM): a traditional four‐component ISM (light green, bottom) and a new, three‐component one where the matrix polymer and lipophilic salt are replaced by a high‐charge‐density polyelectrolyte (PE) ISM (dark green, top). The incorporation of

Study of the Residual Resistance of Superconducting Niobium Films at 1.5 GHz [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
A study of the main potential contributions to the residual surface resistance of niobium-coated cavities is reviewed. They are the formation of hydride precipitates, the contamination by discharge gas atoms and the presence of macroscopic defects in the

Interior Morphology and Pore Structure in High Surface Area Carbon Catalyst Supports

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 32, August 26, 2025.
The interior structure of high surface area carbon supports for proton exchange membrane fuel cells is a major yet poorly characterized factor influencing performance and durability. Using full‐range electron tomography, pores and pathways within the supports are visualized in 3D.
