Moisture–Conductivity Calibration for Electrical Imaging of Horticultural Substrate
Electrical imaging studies of laboratory- and small-scale plant root zones are gaining increasing attention. However, for essential moisture–conductivity calibrations on numerous substrate columns with variability in dry density, the use of one ...

A wood‐based magnetic and conductive material called Magwood (MW), capable of blocking almost 99.99% of electromagnetic waves (in the X‐band frequency range), is synthesized using a simple, solvent‐free process. MW is lightweight, resists water, and is flame‐retardant, making it a promising alternative for shielding electronics. The rapid proliferation

Dynamics and stress in gravity driven granular flow
We study, using simulations, the steady-state flow of dry sand driven by gravity in two-dimensions. An investigation of the microscopic grain dynamics reveals that grains remain separated but with a power-law distribution of distances and times between ...

Atomically thin mica flakes and their application as ultrathin insulating substrates for graphene [PDF]
We show that it is possible to deposit, by mechanical exfoliation on SiO2/Si wafers, atomically thin mica flakes down to a single monolayer thickness.

Study on Forecasting Method of Runoff Recession in Dry Season in Lincang City
The runoff of rivers in the dry season in Lincang is mainly replenished by the storewater in the basin, and a generally stable regression law is found in the flow. In recent years, the drought in Lincang City is prone to occur with high frequency. In 2010,

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Dewetting of thin-film polymers
In this paper we present a theoretical model for the dewetting of ultra-thin polymer films. Assumming that the shear-thinning properties of these films can be described by a Cross-type constitutive equation, we analyze the front morphology of the ...
