DRY MATTER PRODUCTION AND LIGHT INTERCEPTION OF CROP SURFACES
Grass and Forage Science, 1968The growth curves of closed grassland swards obtained during the growing seasons of six successive years were compared with each other and with theoretical growth rates calculated by de Wit's method and based on the mean light energy input data for the same years.

Carbon Dioxide Concentration, Photosynthesis, and Dry Matter Production
BioScience, 1981It has been suggested the increase in atmospheric CO/sub 2/ produced by the burning of fossil fuels will be to some extent counteracted by an increase in carbon fixation by photosynthesis. This hypothesis is based on the assumption that the rate of photosynthesis is limited chiefly by CO/sub 2/ concentration.

Dry-Matter Production in Immature Balsam Fir Stands
Forest Science, 1965Abstract A study of forest stand production was carried out in natural 40-year-old balsam fir—white spruce—white birch stands of 700, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, and 5000 stems per acre in northwestern New Brunswick. A total of 101 fir, 14 spruce, 24 birch and a pin cherry were felled and analyzed to determine the distribution of dry matter ...
