3D‐Printed Sulfur‐Derived Polymers With Controlled Architectures for Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rheology‐guided formulation design for direct ink writing enables the fabrication of 3D sulfur copolymer cathodes with controlled architectures for lithium‐sulfur batteries. The printed electrodes exhibit multiscale porosity and high sulfur utilization, delivering enhanced electrochemical performance compared to conventional cast electrodes.

Influence of retrogression and reaging heat treatment on calorimetric behavior of EN AW-7049a alloy [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Technical Review
Aluminum alloy EN AW-7049A samples in artificial (T6 temper) and after multi-stage aging (T77 temper, i.e. retrogression and reaging treatment- RRA), were investigated by means of differentialscanning calorimetry (DSC).DSC was employed to distinguish the

Observational Evidence for a Dark Side to NGC5128's Globular Cluster System

open access: yes, 2015
We present a study of the dynamical properties of 125 compact stellar systems (CSSs) in the nearby giant elliptical galaxy NGC5128, using high-resolution spectra (R 26,000) obtained with VLT/FLAMES.

Cool Kitchen: Processing Starch and Eggshell Powder into Sustainable Coatings for Passive Daytime Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A food‐grade cooling composite made from starch and recycled eggshell powder offers a scalable, ultra‐low‐cost solution for passive daytime radiative cooling. Easily prepared using basic kitchen tools, this material empowers communities, even in areas with limited infrastructure, to stay cooler during worsening summer heat waves.

Effect of Additives on Mineral Trioxide Aggregate Setting Reaction Product Formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Introduction Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) sets via hydration of calcium silicates to yield calcium silicate hydrates and calcium hydroxide (Ca[OH]2). However, a drawback of MTA is its long setting time.

Two nonmagnetic impurities in the DSC and DDW state of the cuprate superconductors as a probe for the pseudogap

open access: yes, 2003
The quantum interference between two nonmagnetic impurities is studied numerically in both the d-wave superconducting (DSC) and the d-density wave (DDW) state.

Emergent Spin‐Glass Behavior in an Iron(II)‐Based Metal–Organic Framework Glass

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A one‐pot, solvent‐free synthesis yields an Fe2+‐based metal‐organic framework (MOF) glass featuring a continuous random network structure. The material exhibits spin‐glass freezing at 14 K, driven by topological‐disorder and short‐range magnetic frustration, showcasing the potential of MOF glasses as a plattform for cooperative magnetic phenomena in ...

Robustness of d-Density Wave Order to Nonmagnetic Impurities

open access: yes, 2003
Effect of finite density of nonmagnetic impurities on a coexisting phase of d-density wave (DDW) order and d-wave superconducting (DSC) order is studied using Bogoliubov-de Gennes (BdG) method.

Chemoselective Sequential Polymerization: An Approach Toward Mixed Plastic Waste Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by biological protein metabolism, this study demonstrates the closed‐loop recycling of mixed synthetic polymers via ring‐closing depolymerization followed by a chemoselective sequential polymerizations process. The approach recovers pure polymers from mixed feedstocks, even in multilayer formats, highlighting a promising strategy to overcome a
