A boundary‐conforming free‐surface finite element method applied to fused deposition modeling (FDM) is presented. Using a boundary‐conforming approach shows to have several advantages in an FDM simulation. In particular, boundary conditions, like heat fluxes or free‐surface, can be directly imposed on the boundary.

Abstract Introduction Treatment retention and adherence are used as outcomes in numerous randomized clinical trials and observational studies conducted in the addiction field. Although usual criteria are 3/6 months of treatment retention or number of sessions attended, there is not a methodological support for conclusions using these criteria.

The Molecular Genetics Testing Lab. On the Fringe of Personhood
This article proposes to consider the deterministic potential of genetic testing by confronting the genetic “mystique” portrayed in popular culture (and in certain scientific literature), in which DNA is seen as the soul of the cell and genes as master ...

Abstract With the advancement of single‐cell separation techniques and high‐throughput sequencing platforms, single‐cell RNA‐sequencing (scRNA‐seq) has emerged as a vital technology for understanding tissue and organ systems at cellular resolution. Through transcriptional analysis, it is possible to characterize unique or rare cell types, interpret ...

The modulated harmonic wave in the discrete series‐connected Josephson transmission line (JTL) is considered and the equation describing the modulation amplitude is obtained. The equation turns out to be the defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The most interesting result following the calculations is the existence of the dark solitons in the JTL.

Retrieval of the raindrop size distribution from polarimetric radar data using double-moment normalisation [PDF]
A new technique for estimating the raindrop size distribution (DSD) from polarimetric radar data is proposed. Two statistical moments of the DSD are estimated from polarimetric variables, and the DSD is reconstructed using a double-moment ...

Y chromosome represents masculinization. The extra Y chromosome of XYY patients usually leads to over-masculinization phenotypes. The occurrence of several DSD cases with XYY in blood is controversial.

Urethral Pressure Measurement as a Tool for the Urodynamic Diagnosis of Detrusor Sphincter Dyssynergia [PDF]
Purpose To describe a technique for urodynamic diagnosis of detrusor sphincter dyssynergia (DSD) using urethral pressure measurements and examine potential associations between urethral pressure and bladder physiology among patients with DSD.
