Disorders or Differences of Sex Development? Views of Affected Individuals on DSD Terminology
Journal of Sex Research, 2020Over a decade ago, the participants at the International Consensus Conference on Intersex proposed Disorders of Sex Development (DSD) as an umbrella term for “congenital conditions in which the development of chromosomal, gonadal, or anatomical sex is ...

Embryological variations leading to DSD can be classified into problems relating to sex determination, testicular development or hormonal signalling in the placenta, hypothalamic axis or in defects in the testicular hormones themselves. Atypical development secondary to hormonal anomalies needs to be separated from primary dysmorphogenesis of the ...

Trends and Developments in DSD [PDF]
In spite of widespread adoption of the DSD process in the food and beverage industries, and despite many recent technological advances, there is still untapped value in how, when, where and why DSD gets deployed within its traditional channels – and even beyond them.

Challenges Waiting for an Adult with DSD
Hormone Research in Paediatrics, 2022Background: Disorders/differences of sex development (DSD) comprise a heterogeneous group of inborn conditions where the individual’s sex chromosomes, gonads, and/or anatomical sex are discordant. Since the Chicago Consensus Conference in 2005, multidisciplinary care has been implemented in specialised paediatric tertiary care centres and clinical ...

Proceedings of the third workshop on Formal methods in software practice, 2000
XML (eXtensible Markup Language) is a linear syntax for trees, which has gathered a remarkable amount of interest in industry. The acceptance of XML opens new venues for the application of formal methods such as specification of abstract syntax tree sets and tree transformations.A notation for defining a set of XML trees is called a schema language ...

This chapter describes our own approach to surgical management of DSD, which has been developed over 40 years. Our standard operation for feminising genitoplasty is shown in detail, as we have found that more complicated procedures have not been necessary, and the long-term results remain very encouraging.

The first part of this chapter describes the key features of the DSD classification system, potential medical interventions for individuals with DSD and an approach to arriving at a diagnosis. Medical management of the three most common causes of DSD is discussed, and we include the basic principles of assessing and managing potential gender dysphoria.

DSD, with 46,XY chromosomal complement, comprise a heterogeneous group of conditions, where either the hormones associated with virilisation (androgens) are not produced, or the target organs are unable to respond in a typical manner. Important causes to consider in these individuals are gonadal dysgenesis, variations in androgen synthesis and androgen

Digitale Subtraktionsdiskographie (DSD)
RöFo - Fortschritte auf dem Gebiet der Röntgenstrahlen und der bildgebenden Verfahren, 1988Conventional cervical discography was carried out in 25 patients during the period of one year. At the same time, we employed the well known principle of digital subtraction. The results of DSD have been compared with conventional discography. In every case more informative images were obtained despite the use of lower amounts of contrast.

Female fertility preservation in DSD
Best Practice & Research Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 2019Disorders of sex development (DSD) are a group of complex conditions that can affect chromosomal, gonadal, and/or phenotypical sex with a highly variable fertility potential amongst affected individuals. In this review we discuss fertility issues facing patients affected by DSD and Turner syndrome and summarise the literature on fertility and ...
