Hetero‐Bfrs, evolved from either a homo‐Bfr or Ftn by gene duplications, differ from homo‐Bfrs substantially in the mechanisms underpinning iron oxidation and reduction despite high similarity in overall structure.

Asian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.The π‐expanded radical, benzo[cd]perylenyl exhibits remarkable stability with a half‐life of 63 days in air. Its extensively delocalized singly occupied molecular orbital (SOMO), combined with enhanced dispersion force, promotes strong π‐dimerization in solution at low temperatures.
