Polyrhythm Perception and Production: A Scoping Review

open access: yesAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Volume 1561, Issue 1, July 2026.
Findings from 64 empirical polyrhythm studies, comprising 96 experiments, indicate that these studies focus on simple ratios and auditory stimuli, and rely on relatively small sample sizes. We conclude that polyrhythmic complexity can be roughly estimated using ratio sum and Farey trees, that tempo influences beat perception within the constraints of a

Persistent Human Quadriceps Muscle Volume Deficits Following ACL Reconstruction Are Associated With No Detectable Between‐Leg Differences in Vastus Lateralis Muscle Signaling at Rest or Immediately Following Resistance Exercise

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 36, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Quadriceps muscle deficits following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury can persist years beyond reconstruction (ACLR), but the underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unexplored. This study investigated whether persistent muscle deficits following ACLR are associated with defects in hypertrophic signaling pathways in response to ...

Elucidation of Architectural and Compositional Factors Associated With Inter‐Individual Variability in Passive Shear Modulus of the Human Vastus Lateralis in Young Healthy Males

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 36, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Human skeletal muscle exhibits substantial inter‐individual heterogeneity in passive mechanical properties; however, the mechanistic basis underlying this variability remains poorly understood. We aimed to comprehensively examine how compositional and architectural factors are associated with individual variability in passive shear modulus of ...

On the reproducibility and anatomical correspondence of DSI tractography [PDF]

open access: yes
Diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) is increasingly explored in clinical research. The quantitative value of the DSI technique, however, has still to be established.

Dehydrogenative Coupling of Hydrosilanes With Alcohols and Amines: A Concerted Asynchronous Mechanism With an Early Hidden Reaction Intermediate

open access: yesInternational Journal of Quantum Chemistry, Volume 126, Issue 12, June 15, 2026.
DFT reveals a concerted asynchronous mechanism with a hidden reaction intermediate in hydrosilane coupling (HRI), which occurs prior to a pentacoordinated silicon transition state. This mechanism indicates that the concerted asynchronous SiO bond formation and SiH bond cleavage precede the HH bond formation.
