Evapotranspiration Estimation and Irrigation Performance Assessment Using Remote Sensing: A Case Study of the Ergani Dam Irrigation System (Turkey)

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Efficient water resource management is critical for sustainable agriculture, with evapotranspiration (ET) serving as a key parameter. Remote sensing (RS) techniques offer cost‐effective approaches for ET estimation and irrigation performance assessment in extensive agricultural systems.

The association between dual sensory impairment and social participation among older adults in China: a moderated mediation model of activities of daily living and depressive symptoms

open access: yesBMC Geriatrics
Background While dual sensory impairment (DSI) is known to reduce social participation (SP) in older adults, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Therefore, the aim of this study was to ascertain: (1) whether ADL mediates the relationship between ...

Influence of Dynamic Strength Index on Countermovement Jump Force-, Power-, Velocity-, and Displacement-Time Curves

open access: yesSports, 2017
The dynamic strength index (DSI), often calculated as the ratio of countermovement jump (CMJ) propulsion peak force to isometric mid-thigh pull (IMTP) peak force, is said to inform whether ballistic or maximal strength training is warranted for a given ...

Columnanidus calitzdorpensis ichnogen. ichnosp. nov: A new Middle Pleistocene subterranean termite trace fossil from South Africa

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Termites are landscape geo‐engineers whose nesting activities substantially modify the physical and chemical properties of soils. Fossilised termite nests commonly constitute the only identifiable evidence of ancient termite activity and represent valuable trace fossil archives for reconstructing past environments.

Thinking Outside the Rocks: Subsurface Water Storage, Topography, and Land Cover Are Key Modulators of Large‐Scale Riverine Dissolved Silicon Dynamics

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Riverine dissolved silicon (DSi) dynamics reflect integrated geologic, hydrologic, climatic, and ecological controls. We compiled annual DSi data for 337 rivers across four continents and trained interpretable machine‐learning models to predict ...
