Measurement Instruments to Assess Quality of Life in Pediatric Patients With Alopecia Areata: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Alopecia areata (AA) is an immune‐mediated hair loss disorder that can affect various demographics, including pediatric patients, and in turn, severely impact self‐esteem, peer interactions, and overall quality of life (QoL). Existing QoL tools, such as the Children's Dermatology Life Quality Index (CDLQI), address pertinent aspects of QoL ...

Responding to Regulatory Feedback: Financial Capacity, Revenue Expectations, and Firms' Responses to the Authority's Recommendations

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In various regulatory settings, firms receive feedback (i.e., firm‐specific private advice) from authorities on how to improve compliance. Although the literature sheds light on the authorities' decision of when to provide feedback, less is known about firms' decisions on how to respond.

Compact Tubular Dielectric Elastomer Pump for Indoor Plants

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 25, July 5, 2026.
This study develops a mountable rolled dielectric elastomer pump (MRDEP) using silicone films and MWCNT‐based electrodes. The MRDEP is completely soft, silent in operation, and easily mounted on a piping system. We use dry stacking methods, fabricate a multilayer dielectric elastomer actuator (DEA), and a pre‐straining process in one direction before ...

The Influence of Different Polishing Systems on the Gloss and Surface Roughness of Two Distinct Nano‐Filled Composites

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Volume 38, Issue 7, Page 1448-1457, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the influence of different polishing systems on the surface roughness and gloss of two nano‐filled resin composites, and to investigate the effect of a modeling agent (Ceramage) on surface roughness. Methods Two nano‐filled resin composites, Filtek Z350 XT and Palfique LX5, were used.

Tree stem methane emissions are regulated by site‐level biogeochemistry over species identity in Amazon floodplain forests

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 1, Page 179-190, July 2026.
Summary Tree stems in Amazonian floodplains emit substantial methane (CH4), yet controls on emission variability remain unclear. Emissions span orders of magnitude between várzea (nutrient‐rich) and igapó (nutrient‐poor) forests and among trees, suggesting controls beyond flooding.

Influence of MC1R Gene Variants on Coat Color of Indicine Cattle Breeds

open access: yesAnimal Genetics, Volume 57, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Indicine cattle display a broad range of coat colors, representing a relevant and breed‐defining trait required for registration in breeder association. Among the genes involved in pigmentation, MC1R stands out for modulating the synthesis of melanin‐related proteins and remains poorly explored in indicine cattle breeds. Therefore, we aimed to

Microstructural Evidence for Early Childhood Stress in a Community in Transition at Hisban, Jordan

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Biological Anthropology, Volume 190, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Identification of stress across infancy and childhood can reflect maternal and environmental influences on early life health. In the 19th century community of Hisban, many infants died before 2 years of age with evidence of metabolic disease, including rickets, that likely ties with maternal health.

Temporal Modeling of Amyloid and Tau Trajectories in Alzheimer's Disease Using PET and Plasma Biomarkers

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 99, Issue 6, Page 1438-1451, June 2026.
Objective This study aimed to compare positron emission tomography (PET) and plasma‐based temporal modeling of amyloid and tau biomarkers in Alzheimer's disease. Methods Longitudinal amyloid PET (n = 1,097, mean age ± SD = 72.5 ± 7.38 year, 51.4% male), 18F‐flortaucipir tau‐PET (n = 230, 74.3 ± 7.18 year, 52.2% female), and Fujirebio Lumipulse plasma p‐
